At last it’s done, my labour of love and work of lust. The revamp of the C&B site is complete. There’s lots of new stuff here, and a wholly new way of seeing things.
It’s been very, very hard work. The site runs on the latest release of Movable Type (version 4.31), with lots of plugins. The entire site is custom-designed by hand. The hard work has been splitting the templates into modular components for speed and efficiency. It took a lot of messing around, but got down and I learned many new things along the way.
The design itself is one of which I’m particularly proud. It’s a huge improvement on the earlier one which was very basic, even bare. This one is altogether more lush, with arresting colours, graphics and design element placements. At the same time, it’s turned out to be superbly functional (thanks to the modules), so things are just very easy to find and always quickly at hand.
The great new additions, of course, are the incredibly easy ways to contribute fiction and, best of all, the dedicated blog for my beloved sister-in-law, Sonu. I haven’t the slightest doubt that her blog is going to be extremely popular.
Time now to move on with added content. I’ve put this makeover off for much too long, but now it’s done and I really have no excuse for not finishing all those stories, half-begun and pushed aside.
